The Moon Golf Club was formerly Bon
Air Golf Course. It was purchased
by Moon Township in the fall of
2005. And made
possible, in part by a grant from
the Pennsylvania Department of
Natural Resources. The
township then formed the Moon
Township Recreation Authority. The
Township leased the property to the
MTRA in October of 2005 for a period
of 50 years. The MTRA owns and
operates what we know as the Moon
Golf Club. The township board of
supervisors appoints the five member
MTRA Board to five year terms. The
Authority is completely separate
from the Township of Moon. The
financial obligation of the
authority is to pay the lease
payment to the township each year.
All other revenues from the
operation of the golf course are put
back into the course and clubhouse
to improve your golf experience. No
tax dollars are spent on the golf
course operation. Each year, the
MTRA intends to continue to invest
in both major and minor improvements
so that Moon Township can be the
home of one of Western
Pennsylvania's finest municipal
courses. The Recreation Authority
and the Moon Golf Club wish to thank
